A regular commuter of the Santamaria-Sowutuom road will identify with how busy the road is, especially on Sundays.

With a significant number of churches scattered along that stretch, the noise from churches and human traffic is very noticeable, however, due to the ban on public gatherings, the narrative has been different.

GhanaWeb's routine checks on day 7 of the partial lockdown as directed by President Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo-Addo, revealed a familiar noise at the Polo Junction.

The sound of prayers from a loudspeaker.

Following the trail of the sound, we found ourselves in front of Jesus the Son of God International Church, headed by Pastor Isaac Sharp.

Going closer, GhanaWeb's 'Eyes on the Ground' peeped through the window and saw the pastor praying fervently into a microphone connected to loudspeakers, as he moved to and fro in the church.

Another interesting sight was that the members in the church with the pastor were not even up to five leaving one to wonder why he chose to use even a microphone.

"Every coronavirus into your body. Any sickness into the body, may God arrest him," he could be heard praying even from a distance.

A further tour of the neighbourhood showed that, though there are other churches around, they were all closed.

Streets were virtually empty with just a few counts of moving cars.
