FAKE!: Video of Andre Ayew advertising app with GhanaWeb logo not true

GhanaWeb has taken notice of a trending video created by AI and supposedly advertising an app created by Black Stars player, Andre Dede Ayew, predominantly using GhanaWeb’s official logo and a video snippet of one of our presenters.

The one-minute-long video starts with Andre Ayew purportedly speaking about the new app which he says is especially for Ghanaians to help them live in prosperity, before it introduces the face of GhanaWeb TV’s Twi News presenter, Victoria Kyei-Baffour.

In the full video, the GhanaWeb TV logo remains in the top rightmost corner, creating the impression that it’s a GhanaWeb production, with the face of our Twi News presenter interspersed to give it a feel that it is really our production.

GhanaWeb wishes to state emphatically that this is not our creation and it has nothing to do with the company.

We, therefore, dissociate ourselves from the minute-long video and urge the entire public to disregard the video.

In the meantime, the GhanaWeb IT and Legal teams are looking into the matter and the necessary actions will be taken against the creator.
