Editor-in-Chief of the New Crusading Guide Newspaper, Abdul Malik Kweku Baako, disclosed on March 20,2019 that he has strong confidence in his protege, renowned undercover journalist Anas Aremeyaw Anas, because he knows he’ll never mislead him.
According to him, Anas has gained his trust because he’s remained an honest apprentice after understudying him for the past two decades.
The senior journalist has always mounted a fierce defence of Anas and has fired all arsenals in his armoury warding off attacks whenever the multiple award-winning investigative journalist comes under strong public criticism from some of his works.
Others have advised Abdul Malik Kweku Baako to be mindful of his integrity, be cautious, and not overly have confidence in Anas, as he could mislead him one day.
But Abdul Malik Kweku Baako claims it is just not possible for Anas to mislead him.
“I’ve worked with Anas for several years and virtually trained him, I know my boy, I’ll stand up for him, vouch for him because I know him. He’ll not mind me saying he’s my boy, he’s no longer a boy actually he’s even more famous than I am. It is impossible for Anas to mislead me if he has a challenge if he thinks he’s made an error here and there I’m the first person he’ll tell.
"I think he’ll never dare do that, he won’t dare, I do trust him very well, for me, I’m a loyalist until you give me enough and you know that is one of my weaknesses," he stated.
Asked what if Anas is playing on his weakness, Kweku Baako responded: “So one day it will come out and he knows what he’ll lose. So he won’t do it, I have to be honest, I trust him I’m not saying he’s a saint,” he noted.
