Fake doctor grabbed

A 36-year-old man who has been parading himself as a Dr. C.K. Amoah working with both the Korle Bu Teaching Hospital and the 37 Military Hospital is in the grips of the Adabraka Police for defrauding various wine shops of goods worth GH¢49,800.

Alvin Fiifi Mensah was arrested at a guest house near the Regimanuel Estates on Monday night upon a tip-off.

According to Mr. Ebenezer Nketia, Crime Officer of the Adabraka Police Station, who briefed The Finder newspaper, Alvin, who normally operate on Fridays, claims he is Dr. C.K. Amoah working with both the Korle Bu Teaching Hospital and the 37 Military Hospital.

He said Alvin moves from one wine shop to the other telling people that the staff of the Korle Bu Teaching Hospital are organizing a champagne party and that they would need some drinks for the party.

“He orders some of the drinks and issues a post-dated cheque; so far all the cheques he has issued have been dishonoured upon presentation at the bank,” he noted.

He said the police have currently recorded drinks worth GH¢49,800 through five complaints the police have received so far.

“We believe there are more people who might have fallen victim to him, and so we are calling on anybody who has fallen victim to him to report to the Adabraka Police Station,” Mr. Nketia noted.
