Farmers commend ADRA for supporting them

Tom (B/A), April 27, GNA - The people of Tom, a farming community in the Nkoranza District of Brong Ahafo have commended the Adventist Relief and Development Agency (ADRA) for assisting them to improve their socio-economic activities.

Mr Adu Baffoe, a citizen and cashew farmer told Ghana News Agency ADRA had assisted about 40 cashew farmers to expand their farms to realize better yield.

ADRA provides farm inputs such as fertilizers, cashew nuts, and food aid including wheat brand and edible cooking oil to the farmers on credit to enable them to manage their farms and to get better yield, he said.

Mr Baffoe announced that ADRA had also provided the people with a borehole to alleviate their water problem, adding that with the assistance of ADRA, a number of the people had been able to roof their houses with aluminium sheets.

He advised cashew farmers who had taken loans from the Agency to do well to pay back to enable others to enjoy the package to boost cashew production in the area.

ADRA has also assisted a number of landlords in the District to construct toilets in their houses to enhance sanitation.
