Son of the late former Vice President and a native of Yendi, Alhaji Aliu Mahama has donated towards the funeral rites of the late Ya-Naa Mahamadu Abdulai IV, MyNewsGh.com can report.

The funeral of the late overlord is expected to begin by the weekend in line with the roadmap for the resolution to the Dagbon chieftaincy crisis.

Alhaji Farouk Aliu Mahama as part of his contributions to the event, donated GH¢ 10,000, 4 bags of maize and two cows to the Abudu royal family of Dagbon in support of the performance of the grand funeral rites of the late Ya-Naa Mahamadu IV.

The late overlord reigned between 1969 to 1974. The donation was presented to Bolin lana by a delegation led by Alhaji Gazali and Baby Face.

Bolin lana was extremely grateful for the donation and expressed his gratitude to Alhaji Farouk Aliu Mahama.

He also reciprocated the courtesy by praying Farouk and gifting him a sheep and 23 tubers of yam.

The funeral of the late is slated to begin on the 14th of December.

It would be recalled that the three eminent mediation committee, under the chairmanship of the Asantehene Otumfuo Osei Tutu, last month presented a roadmap for the resolution to the Dagbon chieftaincy crisis.

The leadership of both royal gates of the chieftaincy divide had assigned to it that both funerals of the former Ya-Na Mahamudu Abdulai andthat of the late Ya-Na Yakubu Andani be performed at the Gbewaa palace, in December and January respectively.
