Faustina Cobson is 2017 best teacher

Faustina Cobson, a 41-year-old teacher with the Richard Aquaye memorial school in Agbogbloshie, Accra emerged as the overall best teacher during the 23rd national best teacher and 3rd best school awards 2017.

Faustina, a class one teacher beat competition from Agnes Natalie, a teacher with the Kpeve model school in the Volta region and Joseph Agbotsa, 42, who teaches at the La Nkwatanan PRESEC who came first and second runner ups respectively.

For her award, Faustina went home with a three bedroom house to be built at a location of her choice, a 50,000 cedis life insurance cover from SIC life and one hundred and eighty thousand cash prize.

The first runner up took home a cash prize of one hundred and ten thousand Ghana cedis and a life insurance cover from SIC life.

Joseph Agbotsa won for himself a brand new car and a twenty thousand life insurance package also from SIC life.
In all more than eighty (80) individuals and schools received awards including laptop computers, refrigerators, gas cylinders regulators among others.



Speaking on behalf of the award winners, Faustina Cobson appreciated the recognition given to teachers by government.



She appealed to her colleagues to dedicate and commit themselves to the teaching profession.
