The police have confirmed the death of a female teacher at Kumasi Girls SHS in Konongo in the Asante Akyem Central District of the Ashanti Region.
According to the police, the deceased, Vida Frema’s lifeless body was found in the room of her police boyfriend, Sergeant Bright Opoku on Monday, January 29, 2018.
Police investigations have revealed Sergeant Opoku left the girlfriend in the room for work on the morning of the incident. Only to return in the evening to find her dead in the bedroom.
The police have also discovered a cut on her lower arm and a blood-stained knife in the room. The body has been deposited at the Steward Hospital for an autopsy to be conducted.
The Ghana Police Service in 2015 handled a total of 525 murder cases across the country.
The figure is lower than the number recorded in 2014 and 2013 – 543 and 551, respectively.
