Feuding factions in the Alavanyo-Nkonya clashes have signed a declaration to never again use conflict to settle their differences.
The peace agreement was signed during a three-day mediation talks in Accra with government and other stakeholders to find a lasting solution to the nine-decade conflict.
Both sides pledged to respect the declaration and promised to ensure their subjects do same.
Interior minister Kwesi Ahwoi, who saw to the signing of the declaration, said the government is immediately going to build a police station at Alavanyo and would help the factions to embark on activities that will engender peaceful coexistence between them.
A football club, called Alankos United, has been established to start the process.
