Fiaseman PTA provides facilities for school

Tarkwa (W/R) Dec. 5, GNA - The Parent Teachers Association (PTA) of the Fiaseman Senior Secondary School (SSS) at Tarkwa, has completed a Home Science, Computer and Library blocks for the school at a total cost of 800 Million Cedis.

Mr Gabriel Mantey-Williams, the PTA Chairman, who was speaking at the schools PTA meeting at Tarkwa on Friday, said the facilities would be named "the jubilee blocks" to commemorate the establishment of the school in November 2005.

He said the PTA was putting up two semi-detached bungalows for to ease the severe staff accommodation problems facing teachers of the school.

Mr. Mantey-Williams said out of the 45 teachers in the school, only four were resident on the school campus while the rest are living in rented houses within the Tarkwa township.

He said the PTA would endeavour to provide the school with a girl's dormitory and a bus and appealed to parents to support the Association to enable it to provide facilities required for teaching and leaning. Mr John N. Essien, Headmaster of the school, urged parents to invest in the education of the children and said the school had been selected as model institution by the government and would see a massive improvement of infrastructure.
