The National Democratic Congress (NDC) in the Savanna Region has given the Savanna Regional Minister five working days to find a state Toyota Hilux pickup belonging to the Regional Coordinating Council which was allegedly stolen by armed robbers recently.

The missing car was part of the fleet of vehicles presented by President Nana Akufo-Addo to the region when he cut the sod for the construction of the Regional Coordinating Council building in Damongo.

In a statement signed by Mr Malik Basintale, the Regional Communication Officer of the NDC, the party described the narratives surrounding the missing vehicle as a “cock and bull story”.

“As a matter of fact, the entire region has been left in shock”, the party said, about the “numerous stories” emerging in connection with the missing car.

"We, therefore, give the Regional Minister, Mr Adam Salifu Braimah, an ultimatum of five working days to provide the Toyota Hilux pickup to the Regional Coordinating Council of the Savanna Region, since he is fully aware of how the pickup left the hands of Mr Eliasu, who is a businessman, or be ready to cooperate with the consequences, thereafter, within the remit of the law, as there is a clear exhibition of incompetence and breach of office”, the opposition party said.

The statement urged the Ghana Police Service to continue investigating the matter and “not allow themselves be used in matters like this, so, as not to tarnish their hard-earned reputation.”
