Fire Service reactivates emergency lines

The Ghana National Fire Service (GNFS), has in collaboration with telecommunications providers, reactivated its emergency lines.

The GNFS said the initiative was to lessen the burden of the public who found it difficult to contact the Service during emergency situations.

The GNFS made this known in a press release signed by Mr T. Osafo-Affum, Acting Public Relations Officer, and copied to the Ghana News Agency.

According to the release, the GNFS emergency line is 192 for VODAFONE, MTN, TIGO and AIRTEL users.

The release said the public could also contact the Fire Service through the following Regional Command Lines.

The rest are Central Region: 0332132902/0299340499, Northern Region: 0322022864/0299346046, Upper East Region: 0382022277 and Upper West Region: 0392022389.

The GNFS advised the public against the misuse of the emergency lines, since such action constituted a crime punishable by law.
