A tragic fire outbreak has destroyed a family’s home at Nyankyerenease in the Kwadaso Municipality of the Ashanti Region.
The incident occurred around 6 a.m. on Tuesday, October 29, prompting an immediate response from emergency services.
To contain the fire and prevent it from spreading, at least three fire engines were dispatched to the area.
According to reports gathered by OTEC FM News, firefighters successfully brought the blaze under control.
Hon. Emmanuel Atta Boateng, the Unit Committee Chairman for Nyankyerenease and an eyewitness to the incident, told OTEC News that the fire was caused by improper handling of a gas cylinder in the home.
He explained, “Amonoo Gyamfua, the homeowner, asked her grandchild to warm water for her bath. Unfortunately, the grandchild mishandled the gas cylinder while warming the water, causing the fire to spread.”
Despite the extensive damage to the house, Hon. Boateng confirmed there were no reported casualties. The prompt response from the fire service prevented the blaze from causing further destruction in the area.
