A heartbreaking fire incident has ravaged a seven-bedroom house at Atimatim New Site in the Afigya Kwabre South District of the Ashanti Region, leaving two persons in critical condition and dozens homeless.

The devastating blaze occurred on Saturday, September 28, 2024, destroying items worth hundreds of Ghana Cedis.

The two victims, who sustained severe burns, are currently hospitalized and receiving medical attention.

The cause of the fire remains unknown as fire officials continue to investigate the incident.

Jeffrey Annoh, the assembly member for Atimatim East Electoral Area, shared a distressing account of the fire's impact.

"The fire ravaged a seven-bedroom house, leaving two residents in critical condition and many others severely affected," he said.

In the aftermath of this tragedy, the assembly member is urging the government and authorities to provide urgent support to the affected community.

Speaking to OTEC News reporter Asonaba Kwadwo Wusu Dickson, the assembly member said victims of the fire incident have lost their properties, making them vulnerable.

He appealed to the National Disaster Management Organization (NADMO) to cooperate with society and benevolent organizations to urgently support the victims.
