Takoradi, Sept. 23, -GNA- Mr. Noah Acolatse, Chief Executive Officer of Pharma Info Consult has said that regular exercises and frequent walks could help promote good health and reduce sicknesses among Ghanaians. He said whereas some Ghanaians still walked regularly, as a form of exercise, a lot more rely on transportation even to the shortest distance. Mr. Acolatse said these at the first Takoradi Health Walk on Saturday at Takoradi.
It was attended by a large number of people, including children the elderly, men, women and the youth. He said frequent walks could promote the proper circulation of the blood in the body, adding, "as we walk together, we would be sharing some of our social problems together".
Mr. Acolatse said the joint activities aimed at improving health and social well-being could assist in reducing armed robbery in our respective communities.
"We could form neighbour security networks to patrol and safeguard our lives and properly, while exercising at the same time," he stressed. Mr. Ernest Abbey, medical representative of Olfen Gel said the walk was the second in a series to be organised in the country. He noted that the free medical screening was also aimed at assisting people who may not be aware about their health needs, to seek further advice and direction.
