Entertainment pundit, Lawrence Nana Asiamah Hanson, popularly known as Bullgod, has called on the government to fly the ailing Secretary to the President, Nana Bediatuo Asante, to Ghana to continue his recovery.

According to him, since the presidency has clarified that Bediatuo Asante is in a stable condition while receiving treatment in the United States (US), it would be advisable for him to be brought to one of the hospitals in Ghana for treatment.

The outspoken artiste manager noted that President Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo-Addo’s Agenda 111 Hospitals, some of which are alleged to have been built, could treat Bediatuo Asante to recover fully.

Speaking on the United Showbiz programme aired on UTV on October 5, 2024, Bullgod stated that taking such a step will help to boost public trust in the health sector with regards to the hospitals because a government official receiving treatment in the US does not augur well.

“I learnt he [Bediatuo Asante] is in the US for treatment. We should fly him to Ghana to continue the healing since he is said to be in a stable condition. We have hospitals in the country. The Agenda 111 hospitals are there to help. He could be taken to Korle-Bu or 37 Military Hospital as well,” he said in Twi.

This comes after the presidency released a statement to assure the public that Asante Bediatuo is in a stable condition and asked for prayers for him to aid his recovery.

About the Agenda 111 Hospital Initiative:

The objective of this project, as envisioned by the President, is to ensure that Ghanaians in every district and region in the country have access to quality healthcare services.

The proposed project will boost the provision of healthcare infrastructure in line with the government’s commitment to ensuring universal healthcare for all citizens and the attainment of United Nations’ Sustainable Development Goal 3 (SDG3).

It will further be a fulfillment of the government’s policy of a hospital in each district and region and improve the geographical coverage of healthcare delivery in the country, as well as offer improved access to healthcare for all Ghanaians.
