The Founder and Leader of the Liberal Party of Ghana(LPG), Percival Kofi Akpaloo has chastised the flagbearer for the National Democratic Congress (NDC), John Dramani Mahama for sounding a chaotic warning to the Chairperson of the Electoral Commission over its intended decision to compile a new voter’s register ahead of the 2020 general election.

He quizzes that “So now if we don’t compile a new register and the election turn chaos as he [Mahama] has said then whom should we hold responsible?” Adding that, “Mahama has really spoken and Ghanaians should listen attentively, we cannot hold the EC responsible if the election turns violent because she was not given what she requested for”.

According to Kofi Akpaloo, “I’m so happy John Mahama has realized that the EC is responsible for everything that goes on in our election, so he has to go according to the EC’s will”.

The Founder and Leader of LPG, however, descended on the former President Mahama, saying Ghanaians should forgive him for sounding a chaotic warning to the EC Chair because he is too desperate for power just to put the government in a mess.

“He is corrupt, not credible and lacks the ability to run the affairs of the country,” he told Kwame Tutu on Anopa Nkomo on Accra based Kingdom FM 107.7.

Kofi Akpaloo noted the voter’s register is not negotiable, hence the need for EC to compile a new voter’s register for the 2020 general election.

He, therefore, urged Ghanaians not be bothered about the reckless statement issued by Former President Mahama against the intended decision by the EC to compile a voter’s register ahead of December polls because nothing will happen.
