Former Second Lady, Hajia Ramatu Mahama turns 68-years-old today October 15, 2019.
According to the family, friends and associates will join well-wishers across the world to celebrate the 68th birthday of Hajia Ramatu, the former second lady, 2001-2008, Tuesday, 15th October. Hajia Ramatu as she is affectionately known was the wife of the late vice president.
The motherly and gracious Hajia Ramatu is the daughter of the late Imoro Egala, a minister for Trade and Industry and first black chairman of Cocobod, in the first republic and a long-standing political stalwart in Ghana through to the third republic.
Hajia Ramatu was an educationist in Tamale and her love and care for her pupils earned her the coveted title “mma Ramatu”. During the tenure of the latte vice president, his house was the home of many young people due to her commitment to the development, wellbeing and welfare of the teeming young people in the community.
Celebrating the birthday of his lovely mother, Alhaji Farouk Aliu Mahama, aspiring MP of the Yendi Constituency described Hajia Ramatu as a best friend and counsellor who taught him the important lessons of working hard, respecting others and never quitting.
“Looking back on the years growing up one thing is consistent and that is your love and care for me, my siblings and the larger family. Without you today, I don’t know where I would have been” He wrote touchingly"
Together with the late vice president, Hajia Ramatu had four children, namely; Salma, Farouk, Fayad and Halim, all of whom are flourishing in their various fields of endeavour.
