Two term member of Parliament for Krachi East in the Oti Region who lost the 2016 Parliamentary elections has staged a come back to reclaim.
Mr Wisdom Gidisu who lost the elections to Michael Gyato, the then ruling New Patriotic Party (NPP) candidate and now MP for the area, has vowed to take back the seat on the ticket of the opposition National Democratic Congress (NDC).
Speaking in an interview on Battle Ground on Radio XYZ, Mr Gidisu disclosed to host Oheneba Boamah Bennie that his constituents had been calling him to contest in the constituency primary.
“As a former MP, they want me to come back to continue with the good works I initiated while in office,” he revealed.
Mr Gidisu maintained he can close the votes gap between him and his opponent since former president John Mahama won massively in the constituency in 2016.
The former MP is credited with the construction of classroom blocks, water facilities and markets for many communities in the Krachi East constituency as well as facilitating rural electrification projects for numerous villages.
While a legislator, Mr Gidisu was able to distribute corn mills to serve about 80 communities in his constituency.
His comeback is anticipated by many, including some executives of his party.
