Former Minister for Interior, Ambrose Dery, has lost the Nandom Constituency seat to NDC's Richard Kuuire by over 3000 votes, ending his bid to go to Parliament for the fourth time.

Ambrose polled 10,706 votes, representing 42.9% of the total votes cast. Richard Kuuire, his closest contender, garnered 13,743 votes, representing 55.2%, securing the Nandom seat with a margin of 3,037 ballots.

Nyine-Kakoni Delle Stella Saabedaar of the Ghana Union Movement (GUM) also scored 114 votes in the elections.

Nandom Constituency was one of only three constituencies held by the NPP going into the 2024 elections.

The other two constituencies - Sissala East and Lambussie, where Hon. Amidu Issahaku Chinniah and Hon. Bright Bakye Yelviel Baligi are the MPs respectively, are also said to have gone to the NDC per provisional results, leaving the NPP with no seats in the Upper West Region.

The total votes in the Nandom Constituency is 24,905, with 342 rejected ballots.

In the presidential elections, Dr. Mahamudu Bawumia received 8,816 votes, representing 35.4% while John Dramani Mahama secured 15,040 votes, representing 60.4%.

With a total of 24,913 votes cast, there were 708 rejected ballots, accounting for 2.84% of the votes.

Other presidential results include:

Daniel Augustus Laryea-102; Christian Kwabena Andrews-33; Kofi Akpaloo-14; Mohammed Frimpong-9; Nana Akosua Frimpomaa Kumankuma - 42.

The rests are: Hassan Abdulai Ayariga- 38; Kofi Koranteng- 5; George Twum-Barima-Adu- 17; Nana Kwame Bediako - 33; Alan John Kwadjo Kyerematen - 56.

The election at 90 polling stations proceeded peacefully without any incidents.

We are currently at the Regional Collation Centre as results continue to trickle in from all eleven constituencies in the region, though work on the Regional Collation exercise is yet to commence.
