Fraudster dupes Pastor of 65 million cedis

Ho, Feb. 2, GNA- The police at Denu, arrested Prince Aklamanu, 45, from Goviefe-Todzi in the Volta Region, for duping a pastor of 65 million cedis, under the pretext of selling to him a BMW saloon car. Police Lance Corporal Joy Afagbedzi of the Volta Regional Police Public Relations Unit, named the Reverend Arthur Maxwell Mawuli Azeko of Destiny Liberation Ministry Church at Aflao, as the victim. The Police Public Relations Officer told the GNA that about two months ago, the suspect who posed as an Operative of the Bureau of National Investigations, approached the pastor and said he was selling the car.

The pastor agreed to buy the vehicle and gave 65 million cedis to Aklamanu, but instead of producing the car, the suspect went into hiding until last January when he was apprehended.

Lance Corporal Afagbedzi cautioned the public to be wary of people who engaged in such deals and to report any suspicious person to the police.
