Free eye screening for public institutions

Accra, March 4, GNA-The Glaucoma Association of Ghana would on Thursday March 6, organise a free eye screening for some public institutions as part of activities marking the first World Glaucoma Day in Ghana. The institutions to be covered under the exercise are journalists and staff of media organisations, the Electoral Commission and the National Commission on Civic Education.

A statement signed by Mr. Bright Blewu, General Secretary of the Ghana Journalists Association (GJA) said the event which would be hosted by the GJA would begin at 0900 hours and end at 1400 hours at the Ghana International Press Centre. The theme for the celebration is: "Glaucoma - The World Unite Against Preventable Blindness". Glaucoma is a common cause of blindness, which affects over 70 million people worldwide causing irreversible loss of vision.
