Free health screening at Dormaa

Dormaa-Ahenkro (B/A) Feb 21, GNA- Dormaa District Directorate of Health Services has organized a free screening exercise at Dormaa-Ahenkro in Brong Ahafo as part of activities to mark the celebration of Ghana Health Week.

Forty of the 60 people screened had high blood pressure while the remaining suffered from toothache. They were referred to a medical officer for treatment and were provided with drugs.

Mrs. Barikisu Abukari, Nursing officer at the Dormaa Presbyterian Hospital, Dormaa-Ahenkro told the GNA that the exercise was very successful.

She noted that most people were reluctant to attend hospitals and explained that such attitude affected their health status. The Nursing Officer advised people to attend hospitals regularly for check-up.
