Accra, Jan. 26, GNA - Freemasonry of Ghana, a charitable organisation, on Wednesday donated 20 million cedis through the UNDP in Ghana for victims of the Asia Tsunami disaster.
Speaking to journalists at Koala shopping Center at Osu in Accra, where the donation was made, Mr Charles Stanley-Pierre, Head of the Scottish Constitution of the Grand District Lodge of Ghana, said the organization was committed to help the less privileged in society.
He said that even though the victims may be far away, their charitable activity went beyond the country.
Mr Stanley-Pierre said that Freemasonry was a society of men concerned with moral values and membership was open to men of any race, colour or religion who were of good repute.
He challenged other charitable organizations to follow the example of Freemasonry of Ghana.
