Member of Parliament for Assin Central, Kennedy Agyapong seems to have won himself a lot of enemies through his somewhat ‘venomous’ utterances on various issues. The most recent group of persons whose wrath he seems to have incurred are the Friends of the Rawlingses following comments he made about Former President Jerry John Rawlings.
Mr. Agyapong in interview on Oman FM’s ‘Boiling Point’ show Tuesday evening rained curses on the former President whom he accused of perpetrating several atrocious acts during his days as a military officer; acts according to him he must live long enough to ‘pay for’.
“You see how Rawlings has been shaking. He is not died yet, he won’t die now. Rawlings will suffer to the glory of God”, Mr. Agyapong said in Twi to the show host.
Reacting to his comments however, the group described the NPP firebrand as uncouth and undeserving of his position as Member of Ghana’s Parliament. Rather than contributing effectively to discussions in parliament they said, he constantly ‘jumps’ from one media house to another launching ‘unwarranted’ attacks at individuals; a character that qualifies him for the ‘wild’.
“He is the very epitome of what we do not need in parliament. The people’s representative is now playing God because of some so-called wealth. Kennedy Agyapong deserves to be staying in the wild than in parliament. We never heard him contribute to any debate or make any significant input to move Ghana forward except trotting from one radio station to another spewing rubbish and threatening everyone.
How can his party keep quiet while he attacks the military hierarchy, businessmen and now the former President”, portions of a statement released by the group read.
‘A man who barks like a wild rabid dog’ at the least opportunity according to them, ought not to have a place among ‘level headed’ persons required to take decisions on behalf of citizens.
“We believe that parliament deserves to be occupied by levelheaded people who are ready to exercise humility, consult their constituents, and make meaningful contributions to national discourse. What signal is this man sending to young and upcoming Ghanaians when at the least opportunity he churns out vitriol and barks like a wild, rabid dog?”.
They further threatened to expose what they term as “lawless activities behind the scenes of governance”, spearheaded by the Assin Central MP.
“Let this be the first caution to Kennedy that henceforth any attacks on the former President will be met forcefully and in a far better measure”.
“Instead of initiating good policies for his constituents and country, he is rather blaming everything on innocent Ghanaians. We are aware of his lawless activities behind the scenes of governance and at the right time, we shall expose him”.

We believe that parliament deserves to be occupied by levelheaded people who are ready to exercise humility, consult their constituents, and make meaningful contributions to national discourse. What signal is this man sending to young and upcoming Ghanaians when at the least opportunity he churns out vitriol and barks like a wild, rabid dog?
We dare not play God like Kennedy but at this rate, he should not expect old age to treat him nice. We wish him long life so he can suffer the true pain and agony of someone who exercised thoughtlessness and foolhardiness in his earlier years.
Let this be the first caution to Kennedy that henceforth any attacks on the former President will be met forcefully and in a far better measure.
Instead of initiating good policies for his constituents and country, he is rather blaming everything on innocent Ghanaians. We are aware of his lawless activities behind the scenes of governance and at the right time, we shall expose him.
We are pleading with the former President Rawlings not to worry or bother himself over this unprovoked attack from a reckless and a serial loose-talker. He deserves no attention from you Sir.
Long Live J. J. Rawlings!
Long live NDC!
