Frimpong-Manso Institute pushes for peace and unity in wake of disputed election results

President of FMI, Rev. Prof. Paul Frimpong-Manso President of FMI, Rev. Prof. Paul Frimpong-Manso

The Frimpong-Manso Institute(FMI) has called on major players in Ghana's governance process, such as Parliament, the judiciary, and other pertinent institutions, to exercise extreme restraint and tact in their remarks and actions.

Rising tensions over the recall of contentious parliamentary results in certain constituencies coincide with this call.

The institute claims that without peace, the nation's enterprises and general economic situation will suffer significantly.

According to the Institute, it is the duty of organizations such as academic institutions, media outlets, business associations, civil society organizations, religious bodies, and traditional authority to guarantee Ghana's peaceful coexistence.

The president of FMI, Rev. Prof. Paul Frimpong-Manso, asked Ghanaians in a Christmas message to let the birth of Christ to be a symbol of peace in the nation.

The teaching of the institute is based on the biblical prophecy of the Messiah, who will establish peace and provide His people with government.

FMI's plea for peace is appropriate since the upcoming Mahama administration needs peace to carry out its campaign pledges and address structural issues.

Without peace, all branches of government—including the judiciary, parliament, and other pertinent institutions—will become dysfunctional, ineffectual, or even worthless, according to the institute's president.

Therefore, he urged Ghanaians and all institutions to be tactful and considerate in their remarks and actions.
