He added that "The celebration of Ghana's 50th independence anniversary affords us the opportunity to reflect on the role and contributions of our past sports personalities to the development of the country".
Prof. Linus Abraham, Director of the documentary and Dean of the African University College of Communications said "we have all greatly, directly or indirectly benefited from the entertainment, joy and sense of national pride that the past sports personalities brought to us as they competed on the national and international scenes to build the reputation of the nation".

Items would be auctioned and copies of the documentary film will also be on sale in aid of the Fund while viewers will have the opportunity to text messages during the screening of the documentary on television to donate in support of the Fund
