GBC indicts Rev. Drake into office as Vice President

The Ghana Baptist (GBC) Convention on Saturday inducted Reverend Washington Komla Drake into office as Vice President in-charge of Administration.

The ceremony brought together members of the clergy from majority of the Baptist Churches.

The officiating ministers at the ceremony were Reverend Ernest Adu-Gyamfi, Executive President of the Convention, Rev Mark Nti Frimpong, President GBC Ministers Conference, Rev Enoch Thompson, Vice President Ministries, Rev Dr Stephen Asante, immediate past President and Rev Dr Fred Dèegbe, Chairman of the GBC Denominational Board.

The induction was performed by Rev Dr Asante who handed over a Bible to Rev Drake as a symbol of office.

He charged the officer to discharge his duty diligently and faithfully for the progress of the Convention.

The Executive President of the Convention Rev Adu-Gyamfi said there are indications that the Convention is progressing and with the experience of Rev Drake, “the convention will progress the more”.

He said the Convention through the Baptist Relieves Development Agency is rescuing Trokosi children in some shrines in the Volta Region and Rev Drake voice should be added to the mission to save many more children.

This the President said would give the children the opportunity for formal vocational education and upon passing would be supported with a start-up capital by the Convention.

He called for unity among members of the church and urged them to support the administrative executives to enable the Convention to achieve its targeted goals.
