On behalf of the Ghanaian Doctors and Dentists Association of the UK (GDDA-UK) and friends and affiliates of GDDA-UK, I would like to extend my deepest shock and heartfelt sympathy to the Asare-Owusu family on the death of the late Dr. Lawrence Asare-Owusu, Ear, Nose and Throat Specialist Surgeon at the Maidstone and Tunbridge Wells NHS Trust, Kent, UK after a short illness on the 19th October, 2011 at the Kings College University Hospital, London..

We are indeed saddened, by the terrible loss of Dr. Asare-Owusu affectionately called Larry and offer our most sincere condolences to his family and the department of Ear Nose and Throat, Dartford University Hospital.

He was a respected, popular and hardworking ENT specialist, an established computer expert, executive member of the Ghanaian Doctors and Dentists Association in the UK (GDDA-UK) as well as its webmaster. He was also establishing a clinic for audio vestibular medicine at the Maidstone and Tunbridge Wells NHS Trust, Kent until his untimely death. He was one of the hard working original executive members of the GDDA-UK who gave his valuable time as well as family time and energy to make what GDDA-UK has become today. We are grateful for the lifelong dedication of a true public servant, a true friend and a generous human being.

Dr. Asare-Owusu was a close friend to many members of the GDDA-UK, a committed Christian, quiet, easily approachable and friendly to all his colleagues and friends, a brilliant and incredibly intelligent ENT specialist and indeed a good humble human being. His vision, humanity and commitment as well as his remarkably kind and generous nature will be greatly missed. He will never be forgotten.

Our thoughts are with the Asare-Owusu family during this time of grief.
May he Rest in Peace.
