Accra, Oct 30, GNA - The Ghana Education Service (GES) on Thursday said 16,764 more candidates have been added to the initial 139,478 placement exercise.
It said all affected candidates are to contact their former Junior High School (JHS) Heads as well as the District and Regional Offices of the GES from November 7, 2008 to know their placements. A release signed by Mr Paul Kofi Krampa, Deputy Director, Public Relations Unit of the GES said candidates can however, access their placements on MTN 1755, 1756, Kasapa 7777 from Monday November 3, 2008. Meanwhile the GES has appealed to the over 16,000 candidates who refused to take advantage of the mopping up exercise to contact the Heads of their former JHS immediately to select schools with vacancies.
It entreated Heads of Community Senior High Schools which still have vacancies to compile lists of qualified candidates who seek admission to their schools and the lists should be forwarded to the District Education Office for approval at the Headquarters. It directed that only the 287 schools who had vacancies after the initial placement are to undertake the exercise. The GES also appealed to parents and their wards to accept placement based on the choices they have made and to cooperate with it to complete the 2008 exercise by November 15.
