GIA Flight makes emergency landing in Spain

Accra, Sept. 27, GNA - The Ghana International Airline {GIA} flight which returned to the Kotoka International Airport {KIA} fifteen minutes after taking-off on Wednesday had to make an emergency landing in Spain.

Airline officials said the London bound aircraft developed a technical problem soon after take-off and returned to KIA.

The sources said the plane, which took off after examination, however, had to make an emergency landing in Spain when the technical problem occurred again.

Mr Isaac Nketiah Sarpong, Corporate Secretary of the GIA, said the Airline had made arrangement for two aircraft to contain the situation.

He said one aircraft would ferry passengers stranded in Spain to London, while the other would fly Accra bound passengers from London to KIA.

Mr Nketiah Sarpong said the situation would not affect the normal flight schedules of the Airline.
