GIPC Boss Slams Detractors

….Says No Cash Dash Out

The Chief Executive Officer of Ghana Investment Promotion Center (GIPC) Mr. George Aboagye has described his opponents as people who seek to destroy the image of the President and bring his personality into disrepute through some sections of the media.

According to Mr. George Aboagye the said check which was meant for peace conference towards the elections as proposed by Volunteers for Mahama was later withheld upon suspicion of the group trying to use it in political party activity.

Speaking to this reporter in Accra, the GIPC Boss suspected elements within who were trying to destroy his hard won reputation to achieve their selfish ploy. Mr. Aboagye said he was surprised that the issue came at the eve of campaign and only two pro NPP media houses that carried out the story with photo copy of the check in the story.

In spite of all attempts by the said detractors and his political opponents who have used the so-called scandal against him during the campaigning did not work but ended up making him more popular.

“Ahanta West constituents are more discerning you can take them for granted for so many years and think that you would use fabricated stories against your opponent to get the nod”, he said.

He said he has a proven track record of helping the people and building some infrastructures in the area, skill development of the youth and recognizing their plight.

He explained that the Ahanta West constituency has been one of the strongest hold of the NPP and the Danquah Busia tradition that did not see any development during their 8 years rule.

He indicated how the 2012 flag bearer of the NPP Nana Addo Danquah Akufo Addo campaign extensively in all corners of the constituency severally with the Parliamentary candidate just to retain the seat.

He said all the presidential candidates who came there made a stop over at the centre District with the exception of Nana Addo who came there not ones and toured the whole constituent for the fear that I might take the seat. The MP elect for Ahanta West constituency Mr. George Aboagye has indicated that he has identify some problem in the area that he said needs to be tackle as soon as possible and promise to work hard to improve the lot of the people in the constituency.
