GMSA calls on CSSPS to educate parents

Kumasi, Sept.18, GNA-The Ghana Muslim Students' Association (GMSA) has called on the secretariat of the new Computerised School Selection and Placement System (CSSPS) for Senior Secondary Schools (SSS) to mount an extensive educational programme to explain the details of the Placement System to parents and students. It has also appealed to parents and students experiencing the novel enterprise to exercise patience and co-operate with the CSSPS secretariat of the Ghana Education Service (GES), to find a lasting solution to irregularities that have characterized admission processes at the Second Cycle institutions in the country. This was contained in a release signed by Mr Mohammed Naziru Tanko, National President of the Association and issued to the press in Kumasi on Saturday. The release hoped all that it takes to improve on the Placement System will bee done to make it more efficient and reliable and to remove the current problems associated with it.

The Association congratulated the Government, The Ministry of Education and the GES for the introduction of the CSSPS and wished that the system would permanently replace the former manual admission system. "The Association finds the System as a novelty that is appropriate and a timely intervention that will reduce most of the corrupt practices and frustrations on the part of parents and students".
