Six Ghana News Agency Journalists on Saturday night received awards in the Ghana Journalists Association 24th Awards with Mr Kwaku Osei-Bonsu , the Acting Director of Editorial picking the G.T. Anim Award for ethics in journalism.
Other GNA awardees were; Mr Albert Oppong-Ansah, best Environmental reporting, electronic, Albert Futukpor, best in Water Sanitation and Hygiene, Mr Anthony Bells Kafui Kanyi, Child Protection and Participation, Mr Prosper Kuorsoh, best in Agriculture and Mr Robert Techie-Menson best in HIV/AIDS, electronic.
The Ghana News Agency was also adjudged the Best Online Media Award.
The occasion was on the theme "Democracy, Freedom and Independence of the media in Ghana".
Other award winners were best in science, tourism, education, health, maritime, transport, oil and gas, rural reporting, among others.
Apart from the winners, who were presented with plaques and citations, some distinguished personalities were also honoured.
Dr Mahamudu Bawumia, the Vice President of Ghana graced the occasion, while Mrs Gifty Afanyi Dadzie, GJA past President and the chair for the ceremony called on journalists to be fair, objective and voice for the voiceless.
The ceremony also brought together, Ministers of State, traditional leaders, Chief Executive Officers, past GJA presidents, Chairman of the National Media Commission, Members of the Diplomatic Corps and many others.
