It was all a joyous moment for workers of the Ghana News Agency as they celebrated amidst drumming and dancing soon after returning from the Black Star square, where the national event took place.
The day, which is commemorated annually to celebrate workers worldwide for their hard work and contribution to their nation’s development, was marked in Ghana with patronage from workers from all institutions, unions and organisations in the country.
Staff of Ghana News Agency took part in the national parade at the independence square together with other comrades of the working fraternity and later converged at the agency’s head office in Accra to climax the celebration with drumming and singing, dancing to local tunes alongside food and drinks.
Ms Eunice Hilda Ampomah, said that the whole celebration was awesome and showed how united the staff of the institution was, as workers from all departments came together to have fun.
“It was humbling to see senior editors, reporters and casual workers dancing, singing, dinning and drinking together,” She added.
Mr Jesse Owusu Ampah also said that the initiative was satisfying and a friendly atmosphere as it brought unity amongst the old and new workers to share jokes and other ideas.
He added that it was his wish that such activities would be repeated frequently to serve as a barrier breaker and help build a healthy working relationship amongst employees.
It was amazing, fantastic, fun and great and entertaining for the first time ever were some comments used by senior staff to describe the celebration.
