GNFS rejects threats by junior personnel to quit

The Ghana National Fire Service (GNFS) has dismissed threats by some junior officers to quit because managers have failed to promote them.

According to the disgruntled firemen, they have worked for over nine years without promotion.

However, the deputy Public Relations Officer of the Fire Service, Prince Billy Anaglatey in an interview with Joy FM, remarked that the service only promotes people on merit.

He explained that the fact that some officers had upgraded themselves does not mean they will automatically be promoted, adding that any promotion would be done depending on vacancies available.

Mr Anaglatey hinted that a list is currently being compiled and those who deserve it will be promote at the right time. **
