Okumaning (E/R), Aug. 5, GNA - The Ghana Oil Palm Development Company (GOPDC), on Wednesday donated 11 streetlight bulbs to Okumaning in the Eastern Region at the cost of GH¢15,400. Alhaji Bashiru Manu, Community Relations Officer of the Company presented the items, which were received by Ms Grace Boatemaa, Okumaning Assembly Member.
He said the donation followed an appeal by the town's community leaders to the company.
Ms Boatemaa expressed her appreciation to GOPDC for the gesture and said the community would forever be grateful to the company. GOPDC has a concession of 5,115 hectares of land at Okumaning of which an area of 2,083.8 hectares had been planted. GOPDC also constructed at its own expense, a communication mast for MTN network.
