GPHA Fire Service commended for swift response to a surprise simulation exercise

A haulage company, J.K Ahiadome Transport has commended the fire and safety department of the Ghana Ports and Harbours Authority for their swiftness in responding to emergency situations around the Port area.

At a simulation exercise organized by the company at the Golden Jubilee Terminal area, a fire scenario was created to test the responsiveness of the fire and safety department of the port authority as well the MTTU unit of the Ghana Police Service in Tema.

Stanley Owusu-Asamoah, the General Manager of JKAT said the drill was part of the company’s efforts to protect lives and properties on the roads.

He was enthused about the fact that the fire department of the port authority was unaware of the simulation exercise but was swift in their response to the distress call.

The Tema Regional MTTU Commander, Chief Superintendent Oduro Amaning who was at the scene with his personnel to control traffic assured the general public of their preparedness to protect lives and properties in any eventuality.
