The GPSF on 25TH March 2017 made their maiden trip to Tarkwa Municipal Hospital in Ghana.

The team comprised of three medical professionals: Dr Theodora Fynn (Pulmonary Disease
Specialist), Dr Francis Amoo (Internal medicine) and Ms. Josephine Thompson a nurse.

The team served in Tarkwa for two weeks. The team also presented prescription medications donated
by Americares USA worth $220,000 to the Hospital to be given to patients free of charge.

The team on average saw 40-50 patients a day.
The team met an incredible medical staff giving their best while working under trying
circumstances. The challenges of the hospital are lack of physicians and also breakdown of
medical equipment. The GPSF is currently in dialogue with a local Telecommunications
Company to provide internet access to the hospital which will facilitate telemedicine options
especially in the area of radiology.

The organization has also engaged the services of a US based company to help provide
customized solutions to help increase the lifespan, and performance of medical equipment,
drastically reducing costs and reliance on external services.

Health outreach trips to Tarkwa will be held four times a year. The next group will be at the Tarkwa Municipal Hospital for two weeks in July, 2017. The GPSF, in line with its mission, will
continue to partner with Ghana Health Services to facilitate quality healthcare delivery in Ghana.
