The Ghana Revenue Authority has, as a contribution towards marking the World Heart Day 2019 annual awareness campaign pleaded to donate GHC 5,000 to the National Cardiothoracic Center.
According to the acting Deputy Commissioner of Human Resource at the GRA, Augustine Adjei Sefah, the donation forms part of his outfit’s Corporate Social Responsibilities, adding that the GRA has worked hand in hand with the NCTC to promote the World Heart Day observance for the past eight years.
“We at Ghana Revenue Authority have established the employee wellbeing programme, to promote healthy living and a healthy lifestyle. We have also actively partnered the National cardiothoracic center to promote World Heart Day observance since 2011”, He stated.
“Not only have we promoted the observance, but we have also contributed financially. This year, the Ghana Revenue Authority pledges a humble amount of GHC 5000 to support the activities of cardiothoracic center”, he added
Mr. Agyei implored Ghanaians to adopt and maintain healthy lifestyles as promoted by the National Cardiothoracic Center to ensure the good health of their heart.
“In tune with the focus for 2019, I believe that Ghanaians from all walks of life must make serious effort to eat and stay healthy. Do more exercises, check their health status, including heart checks every year and have the needed follow up treatment”, he said.
