The Electricity Company of Ghana says Monday’s widespread blackout in the capital was due to faultiness of some GRIDCO generators.
Several parts of the capital experienced blackout for relatively longer hours prompting some to complain on social network sites such as facebook.
Monday’s blackout comes at a time when many thought that the load shedding exercise is ending.
But speaking to XYZ News, the Director of Operations for the ECG, Tetteh Okine said the company was directed by GRIDCO to put some areas off because of faulty generators.
Mr Okine however cautioned that the EGC has not announced of the end of the load shedding.
“I believe officially we have not made any announcement that the load shedding has ended” Mr. Okine said.
