The president of Ga Adangbe Association of Toronto Mrs. Christiana Nimako has observed that annual celebrations of festivals are a big feature for Ghanaians living in foreign destinations such as Canada and U.S.A.

According to her, these flamboyant Ghanaian events such as Ga Homowo, Akuapem Owdira, Ewe Hogbetsotso and other traditional festivals are held across Canada especially in the summer season.

Mrs. Christiana Nimako, made the observation when she had an interview with this reporter to officially announce this year's annual Ga Homowo festival that would be held on August 20, 2016 at Luna Ballroom in Toronto.

She said living in a foreign destination like Canada and to experience a Ghanaian Ga Homowo this summer is a must.

During this season, barely a week goes by without a particular Ghanaian Traditional Association in Canada holding its annual celebration of festivals Mrs. Nimako noted.

In fact it is hard to resist the spectacle of Ga Dangbes dressed in their finest colourful clothes as they vibrantly parade in time to drums of KPAA SHIMO alongside their traditional chiefs.

"Therefore on behalf of Ga Adangbes in Toronto I wish to invite all to join us to observe Homowo on August 20, 2016 at Luna Ballroom" she made the call.

The president of the Ga Adangbe Association in Toronto posited that the event provides an opportunity for Ghanaian communities in Canada to come together.

Ga Andangbe is known for its lively unity music "WOGBEDZEKE" to wit "we have come thus far" composed by talented musician Nat Brew and traditional "KPAA SHIMO" dance.
