Ga State asked to re-affirm principles and culture of the people

Accra, Jan.10 GNA - Nii Tetteh Tsuru II, Otuopai Mantse and Gbese Mankralo on Saturday called on the Ga State to initiate a traditional revolution to re-affirm the principles and culture of the people.

He noted that the numerous chieftaincy disputes and land litigations in the Ga traditional area were affecting the development of the people.

Nii Tetteh Tsuru II was speaking at a durbar to climax the 5th Anniversary celebrations of the enstoolment of Otuopai sub-Chiefs and Queen mothers on Saturday.

The durbar, which was organized by the Otuopai Traditional Authority, under the theme: "Challenges of Chiefs and chieftaincy administration in socio-economic development in Ghana", brought together all the seven sub-chiefs and Queen mothers of Otuopai. Nii Tsuru urged the people to unite and ensure peace and stability for the development of the area.

Sheikh Isaac Cudjoe Quaye, Greater Accra Regional Minister, called on the people and traditional rulers to cooperate with the government towards the development of the region.

He also requested them to assist the Regional Co-coordinating Council (RCC) in its campaign to the rid Accra of mosquitoes, which was launched some few weeks ago.

Sheikh Quaye urged the Chiefs to discourage the activities of land guards, which posed a threat to the security of the area. Nii Tetteh Adjabeng I, Adabraka Otuopai Mantse, on behalf of the sub-Chiefs and Queen mothers praised Nii Tetteh Tsuru II for his able leadership of the traditional area.

He commended the traditional rulers for their contribution to the development of the area since their enstoolment.
