Ga Traditional Rulers Commend Accra Churches

The Ga traditional Rulers have commended all churches in Accra for fully co-operating with them to ensure total peace during this year’s ban on drumming and noisemaking.

The chairman of the Ga district kingmakers and elders association Nii Akwete Omugu made the commendation at a meeting they held at Amasaman. He said it is unfortunate that last years ban was characterized with so much confusion and hoped it would never happen again. He said it is his great desire that such cordiality and understanding will continue to prevail among them and the churches. Speaking on the main objectives of their meeting he made it clear that it is part of moves by chiefs and elders in the Ga traditional area to resolve chieftaincy and land disputes which have over the years hampered their development.

He said it was also their plan to mobilize funds to award scholarship to brilliant but needy children in their communities. He said this is very important because no nation or community can develop if its people lacked education.

He appealed to all parents especially Ga’s to stop spending extravagantly on funerals and other social gatherings and invest in their children’s education since it is the best legacy they can bequeath to them.
