Gabby Otchere-Darko, McDan supports 3-year old’s surgery

Gabby Otchere Darko, formerly of the Dankwah Institute has presented a GHC17,500 cheque for to offset a patient’s cost of surgery. He was supported by Mr. Daniel McKorley, Chief Executive Officer of McDan Shipping Company to pay the entire cost of surgery.

The patient, Nazil Abdul Salam, drunk caustic soda when he was a year old, causing harm to his throat and intestines. He, therefore required surgery to enable him eat and drink properly as he currently performs these functions through a tube.

The cheque was presented to the Korle Bu Teaching Hospital on behalf of Mr. Gabby Otchere-Darko and Mr. Daniel McKorley by Dr. Okoe Boye, Board Chairman of the Hospital. He said the two were happy to bring comfort to the young boy.

The mother of Nazil, Latifa Mohammed was grateful for the support. She was hopeful that the surgery will be successful for her son to live a normal life.
