A Toyota vehicle of Nephew of President Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo-Addo, Gabby Asare Otchere-Darko has been involved in an accident at Yapei in the Central Gonja District of the Northern Region, MyNewsGh.com has confirmed.

The vehicle was among a convoy traveling to Tamale ahead of the president’s arrival for the coronation of the new Ya-Naa which comes off tomorrow January 25, 2019 at Yendi.

It is not known what happened leading to the vehicle somersaulting land later overturned but MyNewsGh.com gathered that Mr Otchere-Darko was not on board at the time because he was set to fly with the president on the presidential jet to Tamale.

For security reasons, the number plate of the black V8 vehicle was immediately removed while the driver and bodyguard who were inside, were immediately rescued and taken to the Tamale Teaching Hospital where they are on admission responding to treatment.

Meanwhile, President Akufo-Addo is expected to touch down any moment from now in Tamale to a heroic welcome and will tomorrow attend the investiture of Yo-Naa Abubakari Mahama II, as the overlord of the Dagon traditional area.

This follows the successful completion of the traditional processes after his selection on Friday January 18, 2019 by the kingmakers who consulted the Dagbon oracles, mynewsgh.com reports

Yo-Naa was among four persons including Nyab Tampion-Lana, Nyab Kampakuya-Naa and Nyab Boling-Lana whose names came up as possible successors of the late Ya-Naa whose funerals have all be performed.

The consulting elders include Gushei Naa and Kuganaa who nominated the Chief of Savelugu to succeed the late Ya Naa Yakubu Andani II who died in 2002.
