A leading member of the New Patriotic Party (NPP), Gabby Asare Otchere-Darko, has faced significant backlash from Ghanaians over his prayer for the citizenry concerning Dr. Bawumia’s presidency.
In a post on X to celebrate Dr. Mahamudu Bawumia’s birthday on Monday, October 7, 2024, Gabby Otchere-Darko wished for Ghanaians to recognise Dr. Bawumia's visionary and bold policies so they could support his candidacy and help him implement them.
Otchere-Darko’s post further asserted that Dr. Bawumia’s visionary policies will help revolutionise the country.
He added that these policies will contribute to the prosperity of the citizenry and improve their lives as well.
“I wish and pray that the good people of Ghana will buy into your superior vision and make it possible for you to implement your bold solutions for the shared prosperity of Ghanaians in this 4th Industrial Revolution. Happy birthday Mr Vice President. You are, indeed, a good man,” he posted on X.
Gabby’s post, however, did not sit well with netizens, who have since taken to the comments section to express their displeasures with him.
According to the users, some NPP apparatchiks are attempting to impose Dr. Bawumia on Ghanaians as the best candidate among his political opponents.
Others also countered Gabby’s prayer by offering negative wishes and expressing their dislike for Dr. Bawumia and the NPP.
Netizens have repeatedly expressed their strong unhappiness with the ruling government and everyone affiliated with them due to the current economic hardships, rising costs of living, and other crises.

The fact you guys have been able to convince yourselves that you can pull this last "heist" of imposing this halfwit @MBawumia on us is very funny.

Superieor vision? Bold solutions? What are these that could not be implemented today and the eight years he’s been Vice president? Why are you guys taking us for fools, though? We all know Ghana is in a bad state now but you have bold solutions that you could not implement as…

You left LOCAL POLITICS. Give us a break. No political has ever been elected based on poor performance let alone mediocre performance. The only political party which is campaigning against their own policies. pic.twitter.com/GpDekgujEA

On one hand the current government is telling us to keep them in power for the good works they have done, on the other hand Buwumia is telling us he has the solution for the problems we are facing today. So which is which?
