NDC Parliamentary aspirant Dr Clement Apaak has said he has sighted documents that suggest that NPP kingpin Gabby Asare Otchere-Darko is a UK citizen.
According to him, the fact that the former head of the Danquah Institute still votes in Ghanaian elections in spite of his allegiance to the United Kingdom undermines the voters register claims being made by the NPP.
“I have seen documents on social media and other platforms that suggest that no mean a person like Gabby is a UK citizen and holds a UK passport but he still votes in Ghana. So if Gabby can hold a UK passport and still vote in Ghana, why can’t Ghanaians in Togo vote in Ghanaian elections if the law allows them to. It is not entirely unusual for people to have dual citizenship.
“The NPP must understand that it is this same register that was used in the 2012 elections which they went to court to have the results turned in their favour and also used in the just ended district assembly elections; there is nothing wrong with it,” Apaak stated on Newsfile on Joy FM Saturday.
He added that the bloated register claims being made by the Danquah-Dombo-Busia tradition is only an attempt by the party to divert attention from the internal wrangling that has afflicted them.
He said the party was hoping that the allegation would shift attention from their crisis but has failed.
