Kpando, April 24, GNA - The Kpando District Assembly at its
meeting, on Friday, confirmed Mr Francis Ganyaglo, 38, a Lecturer
in Marketing at the Ho Polytechnic, as the District Chief Executive. Mr Ganyaglo polled 46 out of 47, representing 98 percent of
votes cast in the election, supervised by Mr David Acheampong,
District Officer of the Electoral Commission. Addressing the Assembly after taking the oaths of office and
secrecy, administered by Mr Samuel Kofi Solomon, Kpando Circuit
Court Judge, Mr Ganyaglo stressed that he would not abuse the
trust reposed in him by President John Atta Mills, who by the
constitution, nominated him for the position. He pledged to tap the expertise of others who vied for the
position, provide good leadership and unite the people for rapid
development of the district. Mr Ganyaglo said the thrust of his work, immediately, would be
to open up educational opportunities, increase the reach of the
people to ICT, build roads and improve entrepreneurial quality of
the business people in the district. Mr Joseph Amenowode, Volta Regional Minister, said the first
round voting for Mr Ganyaglo's approval reflected the
progressiveness of the assembly. The Assembly also elected Mr Joseph Adigli, 78, an engineer, as
Presiding Member. He polled 46 out of 52 votes representing 88.5 percent.
