Several ladies in and around Tema have been weeping in fear after news broke that ‘His Holiness’ Pastor Marvin Brown, also known as ‘Prince Mark’, leader of the New Jerusalem Religion, is suspected to have contracted the HIV disease.
Since the news broke, several ladies, who say they have had “something to do” with the pastor, have not stopped living in fear as they await his test results and pray it would turn out negative.
The Tema Circuit Court ‘B’ ordered that a test for HIV be conducted on the ‘respected Man of God’, after he was arrested for having sex with a 14-year-old boy through the anus and the boy later tested positive to HIV.
Interestingly, the pastor admitted having had anal sex with the innocent boy but insisted he bonked the minor once and not five times as had been alleged.
One of the said ladies living in fear, a senior high school student, who lives near the pastor’s house, has not been the same after the pastor’s arrest. She is reported to have confided in some people in the area that she had unprotected sex with a young man who lived with the pastor before the arrest.
The said young man is also suspected to have been infested with the deadly disease.
Reports from the pastor’s neighbourhood said DAILYGUIDE’s publications on the arrest of the pastor had become a reference point for most of the residents of ‘VERA’, a suburb of Community 4, the area where Prince Mark lived before his arrest.
“What most of us do every morning is to rush to the newsstand and buy copies of your paper (referring to DAILY GUIDE) because that is how we only get to know what had become of his case,” a source told this paper and also confirmed reports that some young women suspected to have had intimate relationship with the gay pastor had been struck with fear.
Some of the fear-gripped young women were also reported to have completely lost appetite for food.
A student nurse, who preferred to remain anonymous, told this paper that though she did not know Prince Mark and had also not seen him before, she had heard reports on campus that he had at one time dated some of her colleagues.
Arrest
Thirty-two-year-old Prince Mark, who was said to be charging members of his church an amount of GH¢50 per head as consultation fee, was arrested after the father of his 14-year-old victim reported to the police that his son had been sodomised by the man of God.
Pastor Prince Mark upon arrest admitted sodomising his victim once and not five times as mentioned to the police by the victim himself and his father.
He reportedly warned the boy not to disclose the shameful act to his parents and was further reported to have told the boy that he and his parents would die if he ever disclosed the act to them. The boy, out of fear, failed to tell his parents until he started falling sick.
His parents later found out that the boy was infected with HIV after sending him to a medical facility in Tema.
He then revealed to his parents how Pastor Prince Mark had sodomised him five times during the poor boy’s stay with him.
